WhatsApp for iOS is testing a new dialer that promises to make life easier for those who make a lot of calls via messenger, including to people who aren’t added to their contact list. As described by WABetaInfo On Friday (13), this feature was released in the beta version of the iPhone application.
New tool that works similar to the tool that came to the Meta service app for Android a few months ago allows you to quickly and directly search for unsaved contactsby simplifying the procedure steps. Currently it is necessary to add the contact to the phone book before making a call.
However, with the update, you can simply open the dialer and type the number you want, just like you would when making a traditional phone call. Once added, the messenger performs a search to check whether the entered number is registered on the platform. Giving the option to call through the operator if not registered.
According to the post, if the phone is linked to a business account on WhatsApp, the app will display a blue verification badge indicating its authenticity. If the user wishes, he/she also has the option of opening a chat window to chat with that person in writing, without adding them to the contact list.
When will the converter be available to everyone?
WhatsApp dialer can be activated using the “+” button in the “Calls” tab of the messenger. Then tap “Call phone number,” enter the number and press the phone icon to start the voice call.
Right now, the tool is only available in WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.25.10.76It reaches test users registered with TestFlight. Participants in the testing program can check their eligibility by following the steps above.
There are no plans yet to offer the dialer in the stable version of WhatsApp for iOS, but there are reports of people already getting this functionality even if it is not part of TestFlight. The tool is expected to be available to more users in the coming weeks.
