The company was registered on December 11 in Moscow and Anton Kokorev is listed as CEO. Ya.Finproekt is 100% owned by Yandex’s parent company, MCPAO Yandex. At the address where Y.Finproject is registered, Yandex Unmanned Technologies LLC, Yandex Market LLC and ANO DPO “Yandex Educational Technologies” are also registered.
The main activity of the new company is “the provision of other financial services, except insurance and pension services.” Others: securities investment, venture capital investment, management consulting and market research.
RB.RU sent a request to the Yandex press service.
In 2020, the company filed applications for registration of 33 trademarks with Rospatent, including “YaBank”, “YaTrade”, “YaValyuta”, “YaFintech”, “YaFond”, “YaStash”, “YAChek”, “YaMani”, “ YaPrice.” ”, “YaPerevod”, “YaAcquiring”, “YaStimul”, “YaStrakhovka”, “YaAccount” and “YaFinanzas”. Yandex later said that the company often registers trademarks or patents, but not all of them find use in the future.
In 2021, Yandex launched Yandex Bank on the basis of the Akropol bank purchased the same year for 1.1 billion rubles. In summer 2023, the company entered the fintech services market by introducing “Saves,” a savings tool that allows customers to receive daily interest payments at rates of 21% to 22% annually.
