According to ComputerBase, HDMI License Manager offers an updated version of HDMI with advanced features such as increased bandwidth, higher resolution support and refresh rates.
HDMI 2.2 promises to be a significant step forward: the current version of HDMI 2.1 supports speeds of up to 48 Gbps and a resolution of 10,240 × 4320 pixels.
The new standard is likely to exceed these figures by providing advanced content creation and playback capabilities, particularly in television, film and gaming.
NVIDIA RTX 50XX series graphics cards are expected to be offered with HDMI 2.2. Although details about support for the new technology in new GPUs are not yet known, analysts suggest that the standard update will be synchronized with the release of next-generation graphics processors.
