Today’s test lasted eight seconds, which is standard static fire test procedure. Prior to this, SpaceX had conducted refueling tests of the rocket and ensured the reliability of its fuel systems. The test showed that the engine was running stably and the process was successful.

The new version of Starship’s upper stage features larger fuel tanks, improved front wings and updated thermal protection. These improvements aim to improve the rocket’s performance and readiness for reuse.

On the seventh flight, SpaceX plans to use the updated upper stage for the first time. The company will also repeat its attempt to capture a rocket using a tower, which will be the third such experiment.
