The series will discuss key eras in the history of the modern Russian economy, starting with the digital revolution of the 2000s, the oil boom and crisis of 2008, and ending with the birth of the hidden cryptocurrency market of the 2000s. 2020. The project will be directed by the creators of series such as “Psycho”, “Actresses”, “Happy End” and “Ballet”. Filming is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2025. The director of the project will be Evgeny Sangadzhiev, and the general producers will be Igor Mishin and Vyacheslav Murugov.
The plot of the series is based on the “endless pursuit of big money”: the main character Artem Kalinin, who has extensive knowledge of mathematics and theory of stock trading, dreams of becoming the Russian “Wolf of Wall Street” . playing in the stock market.
Soon after, the “reality of big money” turns Kalinin’s life into “an endless series of deals, parties and scams,” and the main character begins to be carried away by the desire for power, excitement and success. The authors of the series themselves characterize the project as “a bold, large-scale saga about greed, risk and the price that must be paid for the desire to conquer financial Olympus.”
The Bazelevs studio, previously founded by Timur Bekmambetov, announced its entry into the comics and graphic novel market. Next year, the studio’s comics division, called BZZZ Comics, will present four projects, one of which, Khozhda, is associated with Bekmambetov’s new project about this popular hero.
