“In the price details section, you can indicate what exactly raises doubts: the total amount, changes in the cost due to traffic jams or high demand, as well as calculation rules. “Customer service staff will quickly respond to requests, explain pricing details and give you tips on how you can save on your upcoming trips,” the statement said.

Yandex noted that the feature is working in test mode. In the future, the company will “collect and analyze all passenger feedback on prices” to find out in which situations they are not satisfied with prices and develop “measures to contain prices in 2025.”

At the beginning of December, a price detail appeared in the Yandex Go application, showing what the cost of a taxi trip consists of. Yandex explained that they introduced the feature at the request of passengers. It should help users make a decision: order a taxi immediately, wait until peak demand drops, choose a different fare, or change the route.

In October, Yandex Taxi’s director of corporate and government relations, Anton Petrakov, warned that by the end of the year the shortage of taxi drivers would grow to 130,000 people, causing the cost of trips to increase by “tens of percent.” He explained the shortage of personnel due to the tightening of immigration policy and the regulation of taxi activity, which is why drivers are moving towards other professions.
