Here’s what you can do if you notice your phone starting to slow down.
Clear internal memory. If the free space is less than 20%, it is time to delete unnecessary files on your smartphone. This can be various applications, old photos and videos. You can also transfer media files to the cloud. If you use instant messaging programs, check the folders associated with them.
Disable background processes. Look for apps running in the background in Settings and disable them if necessary.
Restart your smartphone. Thanks to regular reboots, you can clear memory and eliminate some errors.
Disable animation. This is done through developer mode. To do this, you need to go to the settings – “About the phone”. Then click on the “Build number” line 7-10 times in a row – a notification about enabling developer mode should appear. Go to the “For Developers” section and reduce the animation speed to 0.5x or disable it completely.
Watch out for updates. They can make the system heavier, especially for older devices.
clear cache. This is done using the “Applications” section. Select what’s taking up a lot of space there and click Clear Cache.
use SD card. You can transfer videos, photos and various documents here.
Turn on power saving mode. It reduces the load on the processor and extends the operating time without recharging.
Uninstall your antivirus. If you only download apps from Google Play or the App Store, there’s no need for this. The same goes for apps that claim to speed up your smartphone.
Replace battery. An old battery will run hotter and cause performance degradation.
