The new tool will allow not only to replicate known methods but also to create more powerful models for research. According to Anton Surkov, an assistant research fellow at the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University, the library will be useful in areas such as marketing, diagnosis of cognitive processes and the development of user interfaces and neural interfaces.
Using eye-tracking devices, scientists study people’s behavior and the responses of their nervous systems to various stimuli. Algorithms developed by Russian scientists analyze video recordings, record the moments when the eyes focus on certain objects, and also calculate the duration of focus and the speed of switching attention.
