Hackers are increasingly using not only viruses and Trojans but also social engineering methods. This means attackers trick users into downloading malicious files or clicking on dangerous links. To combat such threats, special programs that can collect digital evidence of cyber attacks are needed. The press service noted that until recently such utilities did not exist for the Russian Linux operating system.
According to the head of the youth laboratory, Ivan Nikroshkin, the developed utilities provide mechanisms for obtaining the maximum amount of information from the infected system. Utilities collect not only standard data such as images and transcripts, but also information from built-in security systems, allowing you to improve the quality of incident investigations.
Nikroshkin also noted that tasks to protect information systems will also be solved as new challenges arise. For this purpose NSTU will develop additional utilities.
