In response to media publications about the results of a laboratory test report on various meat dumplings from the manufacturer Chali, in which salmonella was found, the retail chain VkusVill issued a statement. The batch released with violations is blocked and new deliveries are suspended. But correspondence between the victim and company representatives suggests otherwise.

Representatives of the company reported on the official Telegram channel: “As soon as December 23, we received information from Rospotrebnadzor about identified violations in the product “Assorted meat dumplings, 1 kg” from the production date of November 7, 2024 . [г.]Then, on the same day, the sale of this lot was blocked.”

The chain also committed to carrying out additional product and supplier checks, but at the same time assured that “in accordance with the quality control system, all VkusVill products are periodically subjected to laboratory tests. Chali dumplings are no exception.”

According to the company, there were even two inspections by independent third-party laboratories in September: “The products were tested in September and no violations were identified.” However, December inspections revealed harmful bacteria.

Last November, the Baza Telegram channel published information about the poisoning of two children, ages 4 and 8. Media representatives were in contact all this time with the author of the accusations against Chali LLC, the mother of the injured children, Anna. And, according to his version, sales never stopped.

The channel also published correspondence with representatives of the network, where on December 29 they reported that the internal investigation had not yet concluded and RPN did not inform the companies about the controls and their results, which logically contradicts the official statement of VkusVilla.

Food poisoning has become frequent news in 2024. Some low-quality products have caused an increase in botulism in different cities in Russia. On December 30, TASS also learned that investigators from the Russian Investigative Committee intend to identify and interrogate all the cooks who were responsible for preparing lobio for the “Cooking in the District” service, which also caused mass poisoning.
