Israeli airline El Al has extended the suspension of all flights to Moscow until the end of March 2025. Previously, the freeze had been introduced for a week to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the situation in Russian airspace.

“After a thorough assessment of the situation, El Al suspends all its flights on the Tel Aviv-Moscow route until the end of the winter schedule,” The Times of Israel quotes the company.
A change in decision is not excluded, since the airline maintains a “dialogue with the country’s authorities to understand the situation,” according to the El Al press service. The news about the suspension of flights appeared in the context of an investigation on the situation of the crash of an Azerbaijani plane near Aktau.
Immediately after the tragedy, Kazakhstan Airlines suspended flights to ten cities in the Russian Federation and Kazakh Qazaq Air canceled flights on the Astana-Yekaterinburg route until January 27, 2025. Thus, AL became the third airline to cancel part of its routes “to guarantee the safety of passengers and crew.”
