The new AirTag will use an upgraded chip with an ultra-wide frequency range, which will triple the range of the device. Users will be able to track their belongings from a distance of 30-90 meters instead of 10-30 meters. An improved wireless chip will also improve location accuracy, especially in sparsely populated areas.

The new AirTag is expected to be introduced in mid-2025.
