The volume of passenger traffic of all Russian airlines in 2024 increased by about 5%. The head of Rosaviation, Dmitry Yadrov, shared his preliminary calculations in his speech to the media during a work trip.

A similar average figure is obtained collectively for Moscow airports Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo and Domodedovo. If we calculate separately, the largest increase is demonstrated by Sheremetyevo, which exceeded the figures for 2023 by 20%, writes TASS.
“As for transportation throughout the country, we are currently making calculations, but the growth was about 5% and, according to preliminary data, 111.3 million people were transported,” Yadrov quotes.
Transportation through Moscow in numerical terms amounted to about 75 million people.
Izvestia reminds that in 2025 “passengers will be able to fly with reduced fares on 267 routes, including 72 new destinations,” as the Rosaviatsia press service informed the publication in December last year.
In addition, a pilot sale of online tickets will begin on January 1 for beneficiaries: young people under 23 years old, pensioners, disabled people, large families, residents of the Far East and the Kaliningrad region.
The President of the Russian Federation previously spoke about maintaining benefits for large families and families with children. And the head of Rosaviation emphasized that since December 14 airlines have already provided a 50% discount for children: “More than 360 thousand tickets have already been sold with a 50% discount, 7 thousand children have already flown with that discount ”.
