An unexpected turn of events regarding iPhone SE fourth generation. Apple may change the name of this expected economic model, making it part of the iPhone 16 family. At least that’s what user Fix Focus Digital, an account with more than 2 million followers on Weibo, suggests.

According to the aforementioned user, the fourth-generation iPhone SE (also known as iPhone SE 4) will not be called that after the company chooses this nomenclature for the four models released in its history. Instead of, Apple will call it iPhone 16E.

This information was also confirmed by informant Majin Boo through a publication on his X (Twitter) profile. However, it is still unclear how Apple could use this name. That is, it is not known for sure whether the letter “E” of the iPhone 16E will be part of the name or whether Apple will instead use it inside the frame, as is the case with the current model. In fact, it wouldn’t be strange if the new model was called iPhone 16 SEkeeping the acronym “Special Edition”.

The fourth generation iPhone SE will not have the design of the iPhone 16

This name change information should be taken with a grain of salt, given that the aforementioned user’s leak history is not as extensive or as reliable as others. leaks. Fixed Focus Digital essentially missed out on some predictions posted on its Weibo profile, although it was right on one that mentioned the iPhone 16 Pro coming in a new desert color.

Either way, it’s a minor change. And besides, somewhat unnecessary on Apple’s part. First of all, if we take into account that some leaks indicate that the device could debut with design similar to iPhone 14and not like this year’s models. That is, it will have a notch on the screen, and not a dynamic island, as in current models.

iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16E may appear in March this year. Apart from the new design, the device will have a 6.01-inch OLED screen. Chip A18 prepared for Apple Intelligence and a 48 MP main camera. Its price can be below $500.
