Chamomile tea can be an excellent alternative to medications used to treat sleep disorders. First of all, it supports relaxation thanks to the active compound apigenin. You’ll find it’s easier to fall asleep as a result, says Nisha Melwani, MS, RD, RDN.

Additionally, apigenin in chamomile tea relieves depression and anxiety. Studies have shown that this tea helps reduce anxiety in people with anxiety disorders, menstruating and post-menopausal women, and people suffering from insomnia.

It has also been scientifically proven that people who consume more apigenin (derived from chamomile) tend to have better quality sleep. Scientists have found that chamomile helps reduce the number of night wakings.
