Although CES 2025 starts next week, brands such as Asus, Samsung and MSI have already announced their new monitors. However, the main feature of these models is that they are all 27 inches, have a 4K panel using QD-OLED technology and an advanced refresh rate of 240 Hz.

Starting from MSI, the MPG 272URX QD-OLED is a 27-inch model that uses the panel shown in the name. In addition to 4K resolution and 240 Hz refresh rate, it also features DCI-P3 support for 0.03 ms response time and 99% color gamut coverage, and meets Vesa DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 and ClearMR 13000 certifications.

The Asus model is the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM with similar details such as 4K resolution, 240 Hz, DCI-P3 and response time. The monitor adds OLED Anti-Flicker 2.0 technology to reduce screen flickering, DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 and Dolby Vision for brighter images.

The Samsung Odyssey G8 G81SF is another monitor with exactly these features, the manufacturer’s first 27-inch 240 Hz QD-OLED 4K model. Samsung did not provide detailed information about the product, but this situation is expected to change in the coming days.

Technology beyond the control panel

Apart from Odyssey G8, both MPG 272URX QD-OLED and ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM come with important technologies. Both monitors have a DisplayPort 2.1 connector on the UHBR20 protocol, which allows 80 Gbps bandwidth, enough to display content in 4K at 240 Hz.

Both models feature a height- and rotation-adjustable base, as well as an integrated heat sink to cool the system. MSI and Asus provide a three-year factory warranty on their products. Both have two HDMI 2.1 connectors, a USB Type-C connector, a headphone jack, and USB Type-A ports.

Asus, MSI and Samsung have not announced the prices or release dates of these monitors, and this information is expected to be announced during CES 2025 in the coming days.
