Following the wave of early announcements for CES 2025, Samsung announced its monitor portfolio for the fair with five new models. Highlights include the AI-integrated Smart Monitor M9 and the new Odyssey G6 with an incredible 500Hz refresh rate.

The M9 Smart Monitor is a direct successor to the M8, released in 2022. Built-in AI analyzes what type of content, such as a game or movie, is viewed and adjusts its settings to provide an enhanced experience.

The monitor features a 32-inch OLED display with 4K resolution and is compatible with VesaDisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 technology in addition to the integrated UHD webcam. One of the AI features is 4K AI Upscaling Pro, which uses artificial intelligence to upscale low-quality images to higher resolutions.

The ViewFinity S8 (S80UD), with the same footprint but without AI, is another model that focuses more on productivity, working with a 37-inch screen in 16:9 format and also in 4K resolution to maximize user interaction and efficiency. It covers 99% of the sRGB spectrum, has TÜV Rheinland certification for visual ergonomics and 90W USB Type-C connectivity.

500 Hz and even 3D display

Moving on to the gaming side, Samsung announced the Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF), which, despite its solid set, is one of the world’s first monitors with a 27-inch screen, OLED panel and 4K resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate. did not disclose additional information about the product.

The one that attracted the most attention was the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF), which retained the G8’s screen size and type but reduced its resolution to 1440p. In comparison, the G6 has an incredible 500 Hz speed for professional gamers, a 0.03 ms response time, and compatibility with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Nvidia G-SYNC, and DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400.

Finally, the Odyssey 3D (G90XF) is a monitor that allows you to view content in 3D without the need for special glasses. To achieve this, the manufacturer placed lenticular lenses on the front, which can direct a different image to each eye and create the effect of depth. The device also uses artificial intelligence to convert 2D content into 3D.
