The company has implemented more than a dozen new measures to improve production standards to prevent similar incidents and satisfy U.S. authorities. At least that’s what the company itself says.
Boeing resumed 737 production in December following a labor strike, but is still producing fewer planes than before the Alaska Airlines incident. New procedures include random inspections during removal and reinstallation of parts, additional airframe inspections from supplier Spirit AeroSystems and increased worker training.
Boeing also simplified assembly instructions and introduced privacy protections for employees who report problems.
