McDonald’s said in a statement that in 2024, the company will “open its doors to hundreds of millions and two million team members from all walks of life.”

The organization is moving away from inclusion goals, but will continue to publish its demographic information in its annual report and will continue to develop its “diversity team,” the Global Inclusion Team.

According to The Wall Street Journal, McDonald’s has become the latest major food company to abandon its commitment to DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) policies.

Walmart, Food Motor, Tractor Supply and others previously reviewed their DEI strategies.

McDonald’s will eliminate specific diversity goals at the C-suite level and eliminate its DEI requirement for suppliers “in favor of discussions with [ними] inclusion issues in the context of business performance.”

At the same time, the largest fast food restaurant chain emphasized that the company has made progress in diversity by 2025. For example, more than 30% of business executives in the United States belong to “underrepresented groups.”
