Local authorities discovered that the outlets were posing as pavilions for Russian products, but were selling them without the necessary documents. Some of the stores pretended to sell imported products, but this way they deceived consumers.

At the same time, in these pavilions the number of goods imported from Russia was small. Some stores exported Chinese goods to Russia and then imported them back, indicating Russia as the country of origin, writes Ecns.cn.

The Shanghai Market Supervision Administration has required retail outlets to provide reliable documents to verify the origin of products, as well as to clearly separate Chinese and Russian products to avoid confusing buyers.

According to the Trading Economics portal, at the end of 2023 Chinese imports from Russia amounted to 129.2 billion dollars, of which 94.77 billion dollars, the majority, came from mineral fuels, oil and their products. refined.
