“We are considering different options for developing Neuro answers in search in order to keep them free for users. “We are now testing various formats of advertising messages in Neuroresponses for relevant queries on a small percentage of the audience to evaluate their effectiveness and test hypotheses,” Yandex said.

They added that in case of a full launch of advertising on Neuro Responses, the company will inform it separately.

The Telegram channel “Internal dialogue records” drew attention to the appearance of advertising in Neurorespuestas. The channel’s authors posted a screenshot in which four advertising messages, thematically close to the user’s request, were placed immediately after the AI assistant’s response, marked “Advertising.” According to the screenshot, the volume of the ads is comparable to Neuro’s own response.

Yandex wasn’t the first to start testing AI search advertising. In May 2024, Beebom reported that Microsoft and Google began adding advertising offers to Copilot and AI Overview search results. In the fall, Microsoft announced its intention to visually highlight ads and Google announced the full launch of advertising in AI responses.
