Analysts point to the lack of availability in China of new artificial intelligence (AI)-based features that Apple introduced with the launch of the iPhone 16 in September 2024 as one of the reasons for the decline. These features, which include text assistants and image rendering, are not yet available to Chinese users. This comes as the company continues to seek local partners to implement AI tools in the country.
