The sensor uses special ink developed by scientists at the Institute of Physical Problems SB RAS, which makes it possible to create a sensitive element on ordinary office paper. The press service noted that this element consists of layers of graphene and a conductive polymer, which form vertically arranged particles that act as a catalyst in the oxidation of glucose.

Currently, scientists are developing a module for fast signal reading, which will allow fast and efficient transfer of data to mobile devices via Bluetooth. The project is among the top 10 medical inventions by Rospatent since 2023.
