In 2024, MTS will expand the coverage of its fixed-line network, connecting about 120 thousand households in Moscow and the Moscow region to gigabit Internet. Thanks to high-speed Internet from MTS, modern digital services have become available to more than 5.2 million apartments and first homes in the capital regions.
Over the course of a year, the company laid about 300 km of fiber-optic communication lines using GPON technology, providing connection to 120 thousand households. Internet at speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s appeared in 496 apartment buildings, including new residential complexes and already occupied buildings in Moscow and the Moscow region. The volume of construction of a home Internet network in 2024 was 8.2% more than in 2023.
The connection mainly affected Moscow and New Moscow, which accounted for 72% of new connections, while the Moscow region accounted for 28%.
32% of connected houses are new buildings. In Moscow, optical communication lines were installed in large residential complexes: “Ostrov”, “Event”, “Symbol”, “Solntsevo Park” and “Luchi”. In the Moscow region, the Internet appeared in the last residential complexes of Naro-Fominsk, Krasnogorsk, Lyubertsy and other settlements.

MTS provides home Internet via the GPON network with wired speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s and up to 500 Mbit/s via Wi-Fi. The total length of the fiber optic network in the capital’s areas exceeded 49,600 kilometers; more than 94% of households in Moscow and up to 70% in the Moscow region have access to the network, depending on the specific locality.
