The Ministry of Justice also recalled that in 2024 the thresholds for large and especially large damage were raised in 36 crimes in the field of economic activity, which made it possible to decriminalize some crimes and transfer them to the administrative category.
“At the same time, the amount of fines for the commission of a number of crimes, in which the threshold values of the size indicators of large and especially large damage were previously increased, have not been revised taking into account inflationary processes since 2003,” the department clarified. They are convinced that such a discrepancy hinders the achievement of social justice.
In December 2024, Vladimir Putin signed a law that toughens administrative liability for failure to notify the start of a business activity. According to the document, the fine for legal entities will range from 24 thousand rubles to 48 thousand rubles.
