In 2024, Roskomnadzor identified 135 cases of database leaks containing more than 710 million records with personal data of Russians. The press service of the department informed RIA Novosti about this.

In December, Roskomnadzor reported that, according to the results of 11 months of last year, the number of leaks exceeded the figures for 2023. Vedomstro recorded 127 cases of database distribution on the Internet. More than 680 million records were publicly available.
One of the most significant incidents occurred in February, when it was learned that more than 500 million records had been leaked. “This year, this case covered almost the entire previous year,” Roskomnadzor deputy head Milos Wagner told TASS at the time.
Throughout the year 2023, around 300 million records were leaked online as a result of 168 breaches. In 2022, more than 140 breaches were recorded, during which 600 million records were made available to the public.
