However, Samsung SDI, Samsung’s battery division, is developing “stacked smartphone batteries that provide 10% higher energy density.” These are batteries manufactured using multilayer stacking technology.

With this technology, Samsung will be able to offer the Galaxy S26 Ultra with a 5,500 mAh battery that takes up the same space as the 5,000 mAh battery found in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
