Complaints about the operation of the service began to arrive around 14:00 Moscow time. They concerned problems establishing an Internet connection, loading a website, and opening an application. “I can’t see my profile or my friends. It doesn’t start games,” wrote a user on Downdetector.su.
The peak of complaints on Downdetector.su occurred at 14:36 Moscow time. Until that moment, 1.8 thousand users had reported the failure. The number of messages on the website about problems with Steam in the last hour almost reached 4 thousand, and in the last 24 hours – 4.5 thousand.
Additionally, problems were reported by residents of the USA (623 complaints at 14:11 Moscow time), Germany (408 complaints at 14:25 Moscow time), Czech Republic (84 complaints at 14:12 Moscow time), Great Britain (372 complaints as of 14:27 Moscow time) and other countries.
Steam is an online store and game launch platform where players can communicate with each other. After the start of the military operation in Ukraine, the service prohibited Russian users from replenishing their accounts with Russian bank cards.
Against the background of the restrictions imposed by the site, Russian companies presented their payment instruments to replenish accounts. MTS and T-Bank also have such services.
