In 2024, Russians bought more than 6 million smart speakers, a quarter more than in 2023. This is clear from a study by the computer distributor Marvel Distribution, available to Vedomosti. The trend was confirmed to the newspaper by representatives of Wildberries, Ozon, Yandex Market, retailer Citylink and Avito.

Last year, Wildberries sold 135% more smart speakers than the previous year and Avito sold 25% more. At Citylink, sales of this type of device increased by 11%, the publication writes.

According to Marvel Distribution, the most popular voice assistant among Russians was Alice from Yandex. Sales of this speaker in 2024 represented 80% of all similar devices on the market.

In second place in demand was “Marusya” from VK, in third place was “Salyut” from Sber. Their share in total sales was 7% and 5%, respectively. At the same time, analysts noted that foreign analogues are much less popular in Russia.

Total revenue from sales of smart speakers in 2024 increased by 26% year-on-year to 43.5 billion rubles, according to M.Video-Eldorado calculations. The average bill also increased by 15%, to 7,956 rubles, according to calculations by the fiscal data operator OFD Platform.

Experts interviewed by Vedomosti predicted that the sales dynamics of smart speakers will continue in 2025. According to their estimates, market growth could range between 10% and 30% year on year.

Basically, Russians are encouraged to buy smart speakers by purchasing new homes, expanding Internet access in the regions and increasing the variety of smart home devices controlled by speakers, a Yandex Market representative told the newspaper.
