Kartapolov and Lugovoy also asked Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov to provide them with data “on the materials available in the investigation of the investigative authorities of the Russian Federation into criminal cases initiated” in connection with Chubais.

The deputies asked to send the results of the inspection and the material to the defense, security and anti-corruption committees of the State Duma, in which Kartapolov and Lugovoi respectively hold the positions of chairman and first vice-chairman.

From 1998 to 2008, Chubais served as head of the RAO UES of Russia, within which he carried out reforms of the Russian electricity system with the aim of transferring it to “market paths” to ensure economic development and energy security. .

From 2008 to 2020, Chubais worked as CEO of Rusnano and then, from December 2020 to March 2022, he was special representative of the Russian president for relations with international organizations to achieve sustainable development goals. In March 2022, Chubais resigned of his own free will and left for Israel.
