The mission’s goal is to help scientists better understand distant worlds and assist missions such as the James Webb Space Telescope. The small Pandora moon will conduct an in-depth study of at least 20 known planets orbiting distant stars and determine the composition of their atmospheres.

Pandora’s main feature is that it can observe exoplanets for long periods of time, allowing it to collect more detailed data than larger telescopes. It will capture light from both the host star and the exoplanet’s atmosphere, helping to separate the signals and reveal important atmospheric elements such as water. The mission will make 10 observations on each planet, each lasting up to 24 hours.
