Beijing will host the first ever marathon in which people will compete with humanoid robots.
The race is expected to take place in a prison. 12 thousand people will take part in it. Robots from more than 20 companies will work next to them.
The length of the route is 21 km. The three best participants received prizes.
Robots developed in any country can participate in the race. The most important condition is that they must be human-like and mechanically light, capable of performing motor actions such as walking on two legs or running. Robots on wheels do not lead to competition. Also, robots must be between 0.5 and 2 meters tall.
The achievement of fully autonomous and remotely controlled robots has led to this. Batteries can be replaced during the race. [South China Morning Post]
