This morning the provision of unlimited Internet for watching YouTube was mentioned on the premium rate website, as evident from the archived version of the site.

“The version of the file that was previously posted on the site is not relevant. It was replaced by a correct description,” the MTS press service told RB.RU. The company did not reveal the reasons for updating the rate information.

RB.RU sent a request to Roskomnadzor.

Earlier on Friday, MTS launched a premium Membrana tariff worth 1,900 rubles per month, which offers a “legal VPN” in a special application and unlimited YouTube videos.

The MTS RB.RU press service explained that the VPN service will allow subscribers to “get access to resources that they independently decided to limit their use in Russia.” At the same time, the function does not provide access to services blocked “by decision of regulators”, so “the use of this function does not contradict the law.”

To the question of how subscribers will be able to watch slow-motion videos on YouTube unlimitedly, the press service did not answer, noting that Membrana “offers users unlimited access to popular Russian platforms.”

We tell you how a company can find clients through YouTube and avoid mistakes when launching a channel in the webinar.

YouTube in Russia began to slow down in the summer of 2024. On December 19, subscribers of MTS, Megafon, T2 and Beeline began to complain about problems accessing the service on mobile devices. Prior to this, the slowdown only affected the desktop version. An RBC source in the media market admitted that YouTube faces a “total block” in Russia.
