The number of bars in the center of Moscow increased by 8% by 2024, up to 168 establishments, Ria Real Estate told the director of the real estate agency of the NF Irina Kozina group. According to her, Pyatnitskaya Street became the leader in the number of establishments to drink.

Kozina said the bars occupy second place in squares between catering establishments in the center of the capital, only surpassed by classic restaurants and coffees. During the past year, the participation of bars occupied areas has increased by 1 percentage point to 19.1%.
On Pyatnitskaya Street there are now 15 bars, which are 19% of all areas in catering facilities in this place. Second is Pokrovka with 14 bars that occupy 36% of the space for public catering, in the third: Myasnitskaya Street with nine bars and 23% shares in the area.
The qualification of Sretka and Arbat is closed, where there is eight bars. Food establishments in these streets occupy 28% and 16% of catering areas, Kozina added.
At the beginning of January, the Federal Service for the Control of Alcoholic and Tobacco markets reported that alcohol production in Russia decreased for the third consecutive year. In 2022, the volume amounted to 199.5 million, in 2023-191.6 million gave, and in 2024-188.1 million they gave.
