Ding, who has been working on Google since 2019, has been arrested in March, but is now accused of accusing economic espionage and theft of commercial secrets. In 2023, he established an initiative in China and made an application to the Shanghai Program and submitted monetary prizes to those who returned their knowledge and development to China.
In the application, Ding said that the product will help China’s development of information processing power infrastructure comparable to international standards. The prosecutor claims that he plans to provide the developments of his initiative to Chinese state institutions and universities.
If Dink is found guilty, it can take up to 10 years for each economic espionage case to play imprisonment and trade secrets up to 15 years.
Google representatives said that Ding was moving alone and the company defined the case on time by transferring the case to law enforcement officers.
