The “EKSmodestvo” publishing house, which is part of EKSMO-AST, recorded an increase in sales by 6%. At the same time, the total number of copies sold remained at the level of the previous year, said the director of the Lyudmila Kondrashova editorial. The AST Editorial also recorded the growth of sales in the children’s literature segment by 9.4%.

The most dynamic development channel for the implementation of children’s books remains the Internet, including markets. According to the director of the planet’s childhood department, AST, Sergey Tishkov, the circulations issued increased by 6%, while the variety of publications expanded by 3%. Despite this, profitability remained at the level of last year.

Alpina Editorial Deta reported a significant increase in retail sales: 40% per year, while libraries played the driver. Samokat’s publishing house also pointed out a positive dynamic. In 2024, print houses received 21% more books than last year. Sales volumes increased by 9% and total income increased by 11% compared to 2023.

According to Tishkov, the rhythm of increasing retail prices for books is behind inflation. He clarified that the costs of making books are growing at a pace faster than the cost of the final increases of the product.
