The website of the Depositphotos photo bank was not available due to the blocking of one of its pages at the request of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation. This was reported by Interfax with reference to Roskomnadzor data.
According to the RKN universal service for verifying the blocking of pages and sites, the Russian Federation restricted access to the page of the Depositphotos.com website dedicated to Russia's actions on the territory of Ukraine. The request from the Attorney General's Office was received on July 1.
According to Roskomsvoboda, access restrictions began on July 6.
Since the site uses the https network protocol, blocking one of the pages leads to the unavailability of the entire resource on the territory of the Russian Federation.
On March 7, the photo bank announced on its social networks that it was suspending customer service in Russia and Belarus due to Russia's actions on the territory of Ukraine and the sanctions imposed. The service will resume its work in both countries as soon as the sanctions are lifted.
In October 2021, Depositphotos changed hands: the American company VistaPrint, which works in the field of design and marketing, completely bought it from the founder of the service Dmitry Sergeev and other shareholders.
