Traditional hands prostheses often face boundaries: either very heavy or do not have sufficient mobility. Human hand has 23 degrees freedom and is responsible for more than half of body movements, but most modern prostheses cannot provide the same accuracy. Chinese researchers solved this problem using new technologies.

The basis of creating artificial muscles in the prosthesis of steel alloys with the effect of form memory. These materials can change their shapes under the influence of temperature and have high power with small weight. Instead of usual mechanical motors, prosthesis uses a biomimetic system that mimics the work of tendons that make movements smooth and natural.

The weight of the device is only 370 grams, but it has 19 degrees, which makes it one of the most mobile prostheses in the world. Thanks to the integration of 23 sensors that control the movements of the fingers and wrists, prosthesis can perform fine manipulations: summer, handshake, use a smartphone and even play chess.

In addition, the device provides a sound control system that supports 60 languages ​​and 20 polishing. This simplifies the interaction with the prosthesis and makes it accessible by a large number of users.
