The Human Rights Commissioner in Russia, Tatyana Moskalkova, proposed to ensure in the law the verification of age on the Internet for access to the 18+ content. The corresponding initiative is contained in Moskalkova’s annual report by 2024, which Tass familiarized.

The official suggested to regulate the verification process, since now the content with a brand of 18+ is available for any user who puts a “ICT” who is 18 years old. At the same time, confirmation is not required that a person has really reached adulthood.
Moskalkova’s proposal was commented by the vice president of the TI committee of the Duma Duma Anton Gorelkin. According to the deputy, the measure will imply financial costs for consumers and complexity with authorization for foreigners.
Goryekin believes that “protecting children from destructive content is quite in the power of parents”, since most platforms and digital programs to work on the Internet provide such opportunities.
