This was reported in the Central Bank press service in response to the questions of the subscribers of its telegram channel. Such tickets are more suitable for hot countries with high humidity, added to the Central Bank.

“The use of plastic bills is mainly justified in countries in a humid tropical climate, since plastic does not get wet and does not absorb dirt. At the same time, paper tickets are better than plastic, they support low, including negative temperatures, ”explained the press service.
In addition, it is impossible to include elements such as the water mark, the protective thread and the fibers that the Russian Central Bank can be included in the plastic invoices. To increase the shelf life of paper tickets, the regulator uses polymers impregnations and varnish coating.

In 2018, the Central Bank issued a commemorative plastic ticket with a nominal value of 100 rubles. It was dedicated to the World Cup, which was held in Russia. According to the first vice president of the first vice president of the Central Bank Georgy Luntovsky, Goznak first found this technology.
