The scheme works as follows: The sacrifice calls from an unusual number and reports the planned installation of a new intercom at the entrance. To obtain “free” switches, they offer to call the code from incoming SMS. In fact, this code opens access to the user account in the public service portal.

After receiving the data, fraudsters are sent by Roskomnadzor or Rosfinmonitoring employees. They claim that foreigners have been given a power of attorney on behalf of the victim and that they demand that they be transferred to the money for the “protection of funds”.

Swindlers’s main objectives are old people. Even if the law enforcement officers seem to be an employee of housing and social services, the caller calls for not reporting codes from SMS. It is recommended that suspected calls will be interrupted immediately.

Experts recommend checking about the replacement of intercom via management companies or official announcements at the entrance. If scammers gain access to the State Services Account, you must change your password and apply to the bank to prevent suspicious transactions.

Experts remind us: Public services never want code from SMS and do not require money to be transferred to “savings”. In case of fraud attempt, the police should be notified immediately.
