I bought Toyota Prius at the end of December 2024 with the idea of ​​placing it in Uber. How much money is enough for you?

I am an Excel maniac, so I soon began to receive Uber weekly profit, I devastated. My formula was to add the total amount of the week (one week to Uber leaves Monday to Sunday), subtract what I spent on gasoline, and divide it into the total number of working hours. Now, why can average values ​​differ so much? I do not know the truth, but my first option is that Uber determines the rates depending on the offer of vehicles and demand for passengers. Then there is traffic. After several weeks, when I drove myself, I realized that, at least in Mexico City, very rare trips end at the indicated time. Suppose that if the collection time is 4 minutes, and the trip is 12 minutes, the trip will ultimately be 20, and not for 16 minutes. And in Uber time is a key.

Thus, if you plan to manage Uber, my first advice is to establish a real goal of payment per hour. After driving for several weeks, which varyed from 10 to 48 hours a week, I think that a realistic hourly payment will be within $ 150 in Mexico City, that is, 24,000 pesos per month for 40 hours a week. For me, this is a low income.

Uber is profitable in 2025?

I would say again that it depends, although here, instead of time and payment per hour, I think that the main issue will be car wear. Toyota has a reputation last foreverAnd I can say that three months that I was engaged in my Prii had no problem with consideration. I have pierced tires, and I had to perform the first preventive maintenance to maintain a car guarantee (I spent about 2000 pesos), but after about three months I have to complete another one, on which I will spend about 5,000 pesos (about $ 250).

However, if I add expenses, it is obvious that Uber leaves profit. For 13 weeks, when I was engaged, I always received money in my bag, and this is ultimately positive.

So yes, Uber is profitable in 2025, only I would think that this is far from what I should listen to drivers to talk about days on 3000 pesos per day in Mexico City (about $ 150). Maybe I’m lousy driving for Uber, but my best day was 2400 pesos in the amount of $ 2,400, and this was for the event: an unforeseen environmental circumstance, which limits the circulation of vehicles and for which hybrid cars are released.

Economic urgency? Handway for uber

This is the only moment when I have a brief and brief answer. If you have economic urgency or you need additional income, and you have a car, process Uber, especially if driving is more or less pleasant or if you do not hate. I do not know a single other city to which you can access as quickly as Uber. In my case, for example, Santa Fe and Interlomas (high -income areas) offer good rates, but my average fuel increased to 6 or 7.0 liters per 100 kilometers. In my case, I firmly believe that working during the day and nights is better than doing this in the morning.
