According to the current estimates, almost 50% of the adult population of the United States in 2030 can be obesity. During a new study published in the Nejm Evidence magazine, scientists learned how obesity levels were related to diseases in Americans. In total, the data of 270,657 people who participated in the “All” study initiated in 2018 were analyzed.
Participants were evaluated with 16 predefined health status. These are hypertension, type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia, Heart failure, atrial fibrillation, atherosclerotic cardiovascular Disease, Chronic renal Thromboembole, Deep Vein Thombolymia, Gout, Lines Of Metabolic Disorders, Stones, Obstructive Stones, Obstruction Apnee in A Dream, Asthma, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease and Osteoarthritis.
The higher the obesity class in humans, the more their prevalence and incidence increases. The obesity of III was more associated with obstructive apnea with a dream (10.94 risk coefficient), type 2 diabetes (7.74) and metabolic dysfunction (6.72). Weak relationships were found for asthma (2.14), osteoarthritis (2.06) and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (1.96).
Obesity is also explained by 51.5% of obstructive apnea cases in a dream, 36.3% of metabolic liver disease cases, 14% of all osteoarthritis cases in the examined population.
In a dream, the relationships between obesity and apnea, type 2 diabetes, liver diseases, heart failure were strong and statistically reliable.
