This is the seventh generation of the company’s own accelerators and the first chip that completely focuses on the real-time implementation of AI-Zadach.
In the configuration of 9216 chips, Ironwood achieves incredible performance – 42.5 EFLOPS is 24 times higher than one of the most powerful super computers in the world. At the same time, Ironwood is twice as energy -saving than previous TPU Trillium production.
Basic features Ironwood:
- HBM memory, which is 6 times more than trillium on 192 GB chip;
- Memory capacity – 7.2 TB/s, 4.5 times higher than the previous generation;
- Operations of Communication Channel – 1.2 TBIT/s in both directions, Past TPU +50%.
Google will offer Ironwood in two configurations in Google Cloud’s cloud service: for 256 chips and 9216 chips – for different -scale tasks. The company is sure that there is an event that will be the key to AI’s development, and Ironwood must set a new standard in this field.
