67.2% of residents in Russia prefer domestic tourism to trips abroad, and 54% of them in the last three years have not traveled outside the country, as they planned their vacations only in other regions. AlfaStrakhovanie came to this conclusion during a survey, the results of which are available to RB.RU.

Since the beginning of 2024, 76.4% of respondents have had time to rest. 37.3% chose Russian coastal areas for their vacation, of which Sochi is the leader: 81.2% of tourists spent their vacation there. 29.4% of respondents chose to travel to popular cities, most frequently visiting St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod.
About a quarter of tourists organized an active holiday, for which they preferred Kamchatka and the Kuril Islands (11.3%), Dombay (10.1%), Krasnaya Polyana (9.8%), Khibiny (8. 5%), Manzherok (8.1%), as well as Cheget, Abzakovo and Sheregesh.
The Far East is the greatest interest for Russians when planning their vacation: almost half of those surveyed noted that they are interested in the nature and gastronomy of this region. Also attractive among domestic tourists are Altai and the Altai Territory (25.4%), St. Petersburg, Vologda, Karelia, Kaliningrad (23.9%) and the Caucasus (22.6%).
52% of respondents travel on vacation for seven to 10 days; The most popular way to travel around the country is by plane. Russians also travel by car, train, bus and on special train trips.
About a third of respondents spend 70-100 thousand rubles on travel, 31.3% – 100-150 thousand rubles, and about a quarter of tourists spend up to 70 thousand rubles on vacation. 27.8% of those surveyed began to spend less on vacations. 33.8% consider that the cost of domestic tourism is overvalued, mainly due to the prices of plane tickets.
