The Dolphingemma model was trained on a large data set of dolphin sounds collected as part of the Wild Dolphin project project. This project is the longest work of the underwater world in history. Using pixel phones, the researchers used the Dolphingemma model and recorded the sounds of the dolphins and analyzed them.

For the research, Google Soundstream Tokenizer was used to help determine the structures and potential meanings in the natural communication of dolphins. This significantly reduces special equipment costs and needs.

The model can also predict the future sounds of dolphins. As stated by scientists cooperating with Google, the Artificial Intelligence Association and the Dolphins work open new opportunities to examine inter -species communication.
