And the first plan is to add it to Alibaba’s workplace messaging app DingTalk. The chatbot will be able to work in both English and Chinese and perform a range of tasks, such as converting meeting conversations into written notes, writing emails and drafting job offers. Alibaba said it will also be integrated into a smart speaker, the Tmall Genie.

Interest in this type of AI has grown since the launch of Microsoft-powered OpenAI ChatGPT in November 2021. Previously, Google and Chinese Baidu also announced that they created their own artificial intelligence models and published similar chatbots.
