Perm polytechnic engineers developed the linear motor, reduced its size, and simplified the design, which made it ideal for membrane pumps and other compact devices. Such a motor may find use in medicine, air conditioning systems, pumping water and even cars in fuel systems. The prototype was already tested and the results are impressive: high accuracy, reliability and activity were confirmed with tests.
Modernization affected the design and principle of motor operation. Scientists introduced strong magnets, replaced the outer beds with drinkers, and refused to give power to a moving bar. These changes have made it possible to reduce the size of the device and reduce cooling requirements – an external fan is now enough. In the tests performed in the Ansys Maxwell simulator and a real prototype, the engine showed stable work even at high loads. For example, the maximum force reaches 50 kg and the worker is about 41 kg.
The new device will be useful in medicine, robotic and industry where accuracy and compactness are important. The modernized design has already proved its temperature stability at 51 ° C and its effectiveness, showing its ability to give power up to 2250 Watt. Now, engine production is possible even in small lathes that simplify the mass application.
