A questionnaire by the Russian Unisimka company showed that 34% of the Russians missed their button phones. Although the majority think that such devices are outdated and unprofitable for modern tasks, the interest in them continues to be in different age groups.
Among people over the age of 45, 56% see button models less functional than smartphones, but 37% think it is still suitable and reliable. Reasons are ease of use, long working and lack of social networks without charging. Nostalgia also plays an important role: 30% of this generation participants admitted that they were missing a sensation from the past years.
Participants aged 35 to 45 evaluate the old phones more strictly -68% to see them inappropriate compared to modern devices. However, among them, almost half have warm feelings for technology from the past, and 36% appreciate the long -term work of the battery.
Even young people who don’t really have time to use button phones show interest to them. Among the Russians under the age of 25, 37% never keeps such devices in their hands, but 34% of Zukers are still experiencing nostalgia. This is because of the desire to try something different from daily digital routine.
For the younger generation, button phones, “snakes” and simple games such as tetris, compact design and lack of interventionist notification. Especially the participants reminded the Nokia 3210, Motorola Razr, Nokia 8800 and Sony Ericsson shift with a player.
