As part of the new study, scientists compared the survey of 368 adults over the age of 50, often over the age of 50, with a comparative group of the same number of people who did not suffer.
In a group with physical pain, it was revealed that symptoms of depression deteriorated rapidly for eight years before the emergence of pain. They reached the peak of these symptoms at the time of pain and remained strong in the following years. In a group that did not suffer from headache, symptoms of depression were less pronounced, less common and relatively constant.
A similar tendency was discovered about loneliness. It concentrated over the years before and after the emergence of pain. However, in a painless group, the level of loneliness was low and relatively constant.
